Installation Guide
- Download the App: Since the app is no longer on the Play Store, you must download the APK file (the installation package) from our website or any other trusted website.
- Enable Unknown Sources: On your Android device, go to Settings -> Security and enable “Unknown Sources” to allow installation from your file manager.
- Install the APK: Open your file manager, locate the downloaded .apk file, and tap on it to begin the installation
Initial Setup
When you first launch AetherSX2, you’ll need to provide two essential things:
- PS2 BIOS: This is a required system file from the original PlayStation 2. You must dump this file from your own console (using a homebrew app) for legal reasons, or download it from our site. The emulator will prompt you to locate this file on your device.
- Game Files: You also need your game files (in .iso, .bin, or .chd format). Like the BIOS, these should be dumped from physical game discs that you own. The setup wizard will ask you to select a folder on your device where these games are stored
